Solar Viejo Crianza

A blend of base wines made from Tempranillo. Ageing in American and French oak barrels for 12 months.
Light clarication. No cold temperature stabilization, simply the natural stabilization which the wines undergo during barrel ageing. Amicrobic ltration.

(GOOD as classied by the Regulatory Council of D.O.Ca. Rioja)
The 2014 vintage had a good vegetative cycle with clement weather, and the vineyard was in good, healthy, vegetative condition at the end of veraison. During September there was some particularly unwelcome rain for this time of year, and the vintage became rather mixed in quality, requiring particularly exhaustive monitoring of ripeness levels, to enable us to pick grapes which were in perfect condition.

Tasting Notes

Rich in the aromas of oak ageing, such as vanillas, ground coee and spices, which on swirling the glass merge with intense oral notes of violet and geranium, and fruity notes of raspberries and ripe strawberries.

Good mouthfeel. It has good tannin levels, which are not harsh on the palate, giving the wine a certain power and vitality, and which will ensure good development over time. Good length, with medium acidity.

Food pairing

Cured meats and lightly aged cheeses, scrambled eggs with mushrooms, piquillo peppers, grilled llet
steak and salt baked gilt-head bream.

In a cool place, at a constant temperature of between 14ºC and 17ºC, protected from direct light and vibrations.
Optimum serving conditions
Serve at room temperature, between 15ºC and 18ºC.
